Walkit.com is a website that aims to encourages more people to use walking as a form of travel in urban areas. It provides point-to-point walking routes over a Drawlive map base for a number of major UK cities.

Along with the requested walking route map Walkit.com also provides walking directions and calculations of distance, time taken, calorie burn and CO2 emissions avoided for your requested route. Users are also able to select an option of a direct route or one that avoids busier roads.

In some areas, such as Cambridge and inner London, routes can be produced that avoid areas of high air pollution.

Walkit.com is free to use and supported with advertising.

History

Future developments

Gradual expansion of coverage for further urban areas within the UK is intended for the future.
