Vélo'v is a bicycle rental service run by the city of Lyon, France.

Vélo'v provides bicycles and lock up stations within the cities of Lyon and Villeurbanne. Registered users are provided with a card and access code which must be used to hire a bike. Bicycles can be returned to any bike station and users are charged for the length of time the bike has been in use, with the first 30 minutes being free.
Vélo'v bicycles contain electronic components which allow the bicycle to be identified by the stations, allow tracking of kilometers traveled, tracking of the condition of the bicycles and collection of detailed statistics about the usage of the bicycles.
History
The service was launched in May 2005 and now provides over 3000 bicycles available from over 350 stations situated around the cities of Lyon and Villeurbanne.
