PickupPal is an online ride sharing site. It claims to be the largest such site in the world[1] and to have 131,492 members and operate in over 100 countries.[2]

PickupPal facilitates ride sharing between individuals and also for organisations. There is also a Facebook application made available, launched in August 2008[3], which enable Facebook friends to view available rides.

History

PickupPal was launched in January 2008.[4]

PickupPal is notable for the fact that it had the law in Ontario changed, which till 2009 made car-pooling illegal. [5] Before PickupPal fought to have the law changed Ontario bus companies had had previous attempts to car pool in Ontario shut down. [6]
