The idea of the project is to develop a simple and innovative Open Source car.
OScar also wish to convey the idea of Open Source products into the development of real world hardware.
History
The idea behind the OScar was first launched at the end of 1999. In December 2005, release 0.2 was made from 2006 the project was opened up to wider contribution.
OScar is in partnership with the professional journal Technology Review who feature the project and motivate their readers to participate.
