The wiki details many user-led initiatives that provide routing planning for public transport, it details related software and also sources of Public transport related schedule data. There is an associated blog.

Headway is an independent project started by Joe Hughes of Google, probably early in 2007. Joe also helped start Google transit, a public transport journey planner that is now available from Google in areas for which data is available.
[edit] Impact
The site spreads knowledge about user-led innovation in the public transport field and encourages transit agencies to release data to this project.
